Three days into spring, the temperature this morning was in the low 50s and the winds were calm. It was a perfect day to enjoy the quietude of the beach. Only a few people had ventured down to the water's edge, so I was alone as I crunched my way through the gravel and listened to the soft lapping of waves barely touching the shore. I enjoyed taking photos as I approached the lighthouse and watched it grow larger in my camera frame. The water was so still it even allowed a rippled reflection of the structure's windows and roof. I approached the breakwall and climbed over a small dune to view the harbor. The milky skies diffused the sun, lighting the clouds and streaking the water with sparkles as a bird flew overhead. Total peacefulness.
